Astronaut Charles Bolden is the new head of NASA. He is the first African American to hold the position.

(Washington, DC) — Today marks the 40th anniversary of man’s first steps on the Moon. And as the nation reflects on the achievements NASA has made over the last four decades, they’re also looking to the space agency’s new chief to help guide the steps of the space program in the coming years. That man is Charles Bolden. The Columbia, South Carolina native and former astronaut was confirmed by the U.S. Senate last Wednesday to become NASA’s newest administrator.
