(Washington, DC) — After two days of intense contemplation, a DC Superior Court judge delivered a verdict in a gruesome murder case that stunned the nation. Banita Jacks is guilty of murdering her four children and keeping their decomposing bodies in her Southeast DC home for months. In her closing arguments, prosecutor Michelle Jackson compared the Jacks’ apartment to Abu Ghraib. Jacks faces life in prison without parole. Her fate is in the judge’s hands alone, because Jacks was granted a jury trial waiver.
